Tafco Metawireless and SIP 2000 companies and LocMyWay app have been awarded the ICT Cluster Awards 2011 Navarra.
The Director General of Business of Innovation in Navarre’s Regional Government, Jorge San Miguel, presided the act of this third edition of the ICT Cluster Awards last Tuesday, December 20th at Navarra Factori.
For the third consecutive year, the Government of Navarre, called these prizes through the European Center of Companies and Innovation of Navarre (CEIN) and the Association of ICT Companies of Navarra (ATANA) in the frame of the activities of the Cluster TIC, in order to recognize the initiative and efforts of those projects and companies that promote technological development of our community and support them in their effective consolidation. The winning projects are also an example of how technologies can help companies improve in competitiveness.
Tafco Metawireless has achieved the award “Best project of ICT use” with the project "Development of application software for Electromagnetic Design and Consulting."
The “More innovative company” award relapsed into SIP 2000, ATANA’s associated company. This company, which emerged in 1996 as a software development company, faces a shiftin 2006, developing the software suite 3eTrade on a distributed platform in "cloudcomputing", accessible worldwide through Internet. Currently SIP 2000 have available data centers in Ireland and Virginia (USA), which houses the software that provides to companies all around the world. His innovation is to offer management software for small and medium enterprises through asystem of "pay per use" tools that were previously only available to large companies.
The award for “Best Mobile device application made in Navarra, and available in an online store” - new category in this edition, went LocMyWay application. This application allows the location of people in real time, useful in emergency situations because it allows to have available at all times, the last position located. The winner in this category has been selected by voting in an online platform.

This meeting completes the first phase of institutional contacts initiated by ATANA, representing the ICT sector in Navarre, to expose the potential for collaboration with the Government of Navarra.
Miguel Ángel Latasa (President), Roberto Elizalde (VP) and Nerea Corera (Manager) on behalf of associated companies, presented the Association of Navarra’s ICT Companies and then shared with the President the conclusions drawn from previously held meetings with various ministries and the next line of joint action.
